Filwa Nazer presents " Al Kandara Conversation", two mesh screens featuring hand embroidery, polyester crin and cotton, currently showing Design Doha Biennial Arab Design Now exhibition curated by Rana Beiruti with the support of Qatar Museums.
Al Kandara Conversation is part of her series " The hands want to see, the eyes want to caress'' commissioned for Saudi Modern exhibition in Jeddah in 2021.
The series takes inspiration from the modernist aesthetic of a particular House 'Beit Bainaid' and responds to the arbitrary superimposition of different elements and styles that occur to a space over time.
